I have to laugh at the gauze patch on his neck. Clearly he was shot through the neck, tracing the blood lines down his shirt. I think by this time, it's a 3X3 patch of gauze is "(way) too little, (way) too late."

Well, to save him, anyway. I mean, its not too late for other things....

I have noted before patches of cloth over where someone was shot - sometimes small enough to not be to stench the blood but to mark the number or location of injury.
