It took me a while to figure out your reference to things spinning. Now I see what you mean! I suppose there IS a right and a wrong orientation when displaying the swastika, just as there are rules for hanging the U.S. flag. Do you know which spin is correct for the Nazis?

The swastika, however, is an ancient Hindu / Buddhist symbol representing the source of Eternal Light. It is used as such in a number of related religions. If you travel to India, you will find enormous swastikas painted on high rise buildings that have nothing whatsoever to do with the Nazis, who stole and corrupted the symbol.
This symbol is related to Jainism:
In Sanskrit, this symbol is the svastika:

Good point. And on most matters that is the approach I would properly take. It's just that the nazis were so evil and the number of people they murdered so high that I find it difficult to do anything other than let off steam. But you are right, of course

It is really an ancient symbol. Its evil associations are purely a result of the 20th Century.
I found out about the prevalence of the swastika in India when I was assigned to go to Bangalore for six weeks in October 1998 as a trouble-shooter for Oracle. I was walking to work, and saw a swastika five stories tall on a building. It shocked me at first; then I realized: No, not Nazi.

To everyone thankyou for the history lesson on the swastika. You taught me alot, I was only trying to be funny with the lead paint joke. I did not know the history of the swastika was started by the buddhist, I always thought it was a Hitler created item. Glad you proved me wrong. I fully support the jewish people. Right now I am sorry to say "I HATE MUSLIMS/PEOPLE FROM SYRIA" Due to all of this happening in Paris,unfortunately when the Syrian president accused the French President of some crap, I cannot remember it at this time the crap he accused him of. The Syrian president thought this was an absolute joke and did not care if any French citizens died or not.
