A shocking videotape of police forcefully pepper spraying a group of students staging a sit down protest has emerged.

Footage of the tense standoff between police and Occupy demonstrators at the University of California, Davis, shows an officer using pepper spray on a group of protesters who appear to be sitting passively on the ground with their arms interlocked.

This story is all over the news here today in the USA, many students are especially outraged on university and college campuses across the USA.

Shame on your country Arrow.

What's happening in the United States is appaling, this once great nation is headed for disaster.

I am afraid more countries will become like Syria and Libya soon. Iran for example is getting ready for war with the west, we all know that. There will either be revolution or war.

In Bulgaria massive strikes are getting organized, there will be transport chaos next week as rail workers go on strike and all train service in Bulgaria will be suspended.

I am afraid this is just the beggining of social unrest on a scale this Earth has never seen before.

The University of California at Davis Chancellor, Linda Katehi, is REFUSING to resign despite her own faculty members now demanding she do so. She has become mean-spirted, defensive and defiant.

In a different story but still from California, the OCCUPY anti-Wall Street protestors ousted from their protest site in Oakland a week ago have moved to a new campout, all huddled together in tents that look like total squalor.

Egyptians are now rioting in Cairo again against government military repression there and yes, Iran is a big worry, too. I had no idea Bulgaria is having big labor issues, the European Union seems very shaky still, too.

They were asked to move and refused. At that point they have opened themselves up for action to be taken to get them to move; which they see as retaliation and police brutality but are, in actuality, the police doing their job. Maybe the police should refuse to protect them sometime or refuse to help them when they need it. People are allowed to voice their opinions and have their beliefs heard, but they must do so within the confines of the civility and the laws, rules and regulations present in the society within they live and participate. If everyone ignored the rules and did as they please, the brewing civil unrest would be rampant and unyielding by now. Social unrest would be the status quo and no one would be or feel safe. There is a way to protest and there is a way not to protest. Defiance and lack of recognition of the laws and enforcing bodies present is an invitation for action to be taken. The safety of the greater masses is much more important than that of the few when the few have brought the resultant actions upon themselves by their own inaction or refusal to abide by the rules. Just because they are in college and/or believe in a cause is no excuse.

The national rail company here is bankrupt. No trains from next week, it will be utter chaos. More and more companies will go bankrupt as the European Union gets ripped apart by the worst economic crisis in history.

This is just the beginning of the end, I am afraid.

I hope war breaks out with many dead young guys. I will store as much bodies as I can in the basement.

People here in the US have taken the expression of their freedoms thing to the extreme and are pushing the boundaries to see just how far they can go before they break or snap back and smack them in the face. There is no reason whatsoever for things to gat as bad as they do unless they are being done on purpose and done so as to invoke a response that they can then attempt to use against the responders as being too strong or inappropriate. If people want to live in squalid tent cities for weeks to make some kind of point, so be it. But they must realize that the greater good of the masses outweighs their individual freedom of expression, especially when the conditions become a hazard, dangerous or verging on being out-of-control. When the occupation is installed on private property designed for public access and usage, the occupiers have known what the situation is from the start and are doing what they are, where they are, to get the owners, authorities and others riled up and poised to take action. Then when they are forced off of the private property because it does not belong to them nor did they have permission to occupy it in the first place, they can attempt to claim the authorities used hostile and excessive actions and unnecessary force to remove them; thus drawing public attention to their plight. All of this in an attempt to incite disgust, outrage and gain support for their ‘cause’. They have brought this down upon themselves. Social order and control must be maintained so as to ensure and protect the safety of the other participating members of society that have chosen not to occupy with them. People are free to express themselves and their opinions. In doing so, they must understand and realize that first and foremost, the safety of the public at large is the major consideration to those charged with maintaining order and stability within and amongst the masses. Anything seen as possibly disruptive to that process will be dealt with in whatever manner necessary so as to ‘neutralize’ the potential threat and harm it could and can do to the status quo and maintaining peace, order and control.
As far as on the international scene, the reaction of countries such as Iran is in direct response to our philosophy and ideology that we are the supreme whatever to the world; be it police force, instiller of democracy or something else. Not everyone agrees that the thoughts, beliefs and actions of the US are the way in which they should believe and act. Some do not appreciate the amount of participation and control that the US has in the affairs of other countries and they feel pressed or bullied. Thus we can expect, if we continue on our current path, to find countries such as Iran that are not afraid to undertake rebellious actions in order to assert their voice and take control of their own destiny. We may desire and like to see every country in the world installed with a democratic form of government, but it not our place to force that form of government on any country that does not want it nor is it our place to consider those countries as lesser or lower status than the Unites States. What works for one does not necessarily work for all. As long as the people under their jurisdictions are accepting and are not oppressed; then we have no business shaking things up. The days of colonialism are gone where the spread of a democratic form of government was seen as a way to save the savages of the colonies from themselves. Just as the different races and nationalities must come together and work as one, so too must the various forms of government; without inflicting one on the other. Otherwise, as we see, chaos can, does and will ensue.

I think there will be more social upheaval in the US, the huge wealth gap and unemployment will drive more people to the streets.

As far as Europe is concerned, countries will fall one after the other like dominos, some have already fallen while others are teetering.

America has become a police state controlled by the Supreme Court and the huge corporations. A second revolution is needed. Take no prisoners.

Meatpie, you need to clean out the freezer warehouse and put them in your basement in preparation. If you need help retrieving CDGs, we will gladly help

Man those cops on power trips are fuckin FAT. How the fuck did they even get onto the force

The remain on the force because states have passed no physical fitness standards for law officers other than those with the Highway Patrol. Although physical fitness and self discipline should be an obvious attribute of law officers, the unions have quite a bit of political influence. They have run interference with getting any enforceable laws passed and the problem continues to worsen.

In the end, it is more likely that a standoff between demonstrators and out of shape law officers will lead to weapons being used because they have fewer options. Its hard to take an order from a rolly-polly officer seriously when its clear he can't even control himself.

As the presidential election approaches next year, politicians are going to do whatever they can to vilify and silence protesters. History is a good indicator of what may happen. During the protests of the Vietnam war in the nineteen-sixties, the Ohio National Guard opened fire on unarmed college students who were protesting at Kent State University. The governor of the state ordered them to do so because he was being pressured by conservative groups and Congressional representatives to get the protests under control.

How much longer before someone starts something terrible?
