Hundreds of refugees from Syria have fled to Bulgaria and the government is preparing to set up a tent city if the numbers continues to rise.

Most cross the border with Turkey illegally at night, a few days ago nearly 300 crossed into the EU in a matter of hours overnight.

Winters are brutal in Bulgaria, I don't think you can survive outside in a tent when it's -30'C and blowing a blizzard
.

They are trying to get into the EU
Don't know what the answer is - the Syrian regime and rebels are both really bad people and will go on killing each other The Arab countries shod stop it if anyone has to

How is it that Syrians are coming all the way up to Bulgaria, Pie?? Bulgaria is no where near to Syria, why are they coming to Bulgaria?

That makes no sense at all, it just doesn't !!

Bulgaria is just 1464 km from Syria (910 miles).

Millions of refugees have already flooded into Turkey and it's only natural some of them will cross into Bulgaria and then to all other EU nations.

I saw several Syrian families walking the streets here, there was a look of desparation and fear in their eyes.

Most tragic are the children who cross the border all alone, parents, relatives killed in Syria.

Hundreds of Bulgarian couples will now take one kid into their homes until a solution is found so that children don't starve on the streets.

That is still a long ways away, Pie
...nearly a 1000 miles from Bulgaria.

Is Turkey anywhere near Bulgaria? And then is Turkey near to Syria?

Why would Syrians want to come to Turkey even? What is there for them?

Again, so confusing, just does not make any sense at all.

You can see Syria's neighbours in Google Maps Arrow.

Syrians are fleeing to Turkey because they don't want to be slaughtered, gassed, bombed, raped, tortured by Assad's death squads.
