The Occupy Nigeria movement in 2012 started as a protest against fuel prices and ground-swelled into a mass protest against ill-governance. Many people who carried out their right to protest peacefully were killed in brutal fashion. One of them, Ademola Aderinde, who joined the protests in Ogba, even as he begged for mercy and pleaded for his life, was stripped naked and brutally killed by a police officer, who was later remanded for the crime after a huge outcry from the people. A sad, sad reminder of how helpless citizens can be against the might of government forces... :wtf:

Protesting is a dangerous business. People should understand that they put their lives at risk any time they confront those in power. You are more likely to remain safe and unmolested if you stay home and keep your mouth shut. If you feel you must join the revolution, then be prepared to die naked.
