A major commuting road remains closed 48 hours after a man was killed and another injured after being struck by a car at a bus stop. The pedestrian, who was in his 60s, was pronounced dead when the vehicle careered off Great Hampton Street and into the pavement on Sunday afternoon (July 21).
An investigation has been launched and the driver, a man, is helping police with their enquiries. Meanwhile, police tape was placed across Hockley Hill at New John Street West on Tuesday morning (July 23) but there were no signs of officers.
