I actually knew a young woman who committed suicide like that. She found a beach house unoccupied in the winter on an isolated lake. It had a huge fireplace. She apparently chained herself naked to the iron fire dogs, on top of a huge pile of firewood soaked in diesel or heating oil, then lit it ablaze. When she was found, actually weeks later, all that was left of her was parts of her skeleton including most of her skull, so the fire must have been very hot and long burning.
It was definitely suicide, she left a note, and had talked about burning herself to death months earlier. I'm sick enough to wish she had videoed it and live-streamed, but this was long before the internet.
