Check out the official site. Kinda confusing but I don't think we are supposed to come away with the idea that he went crazy. The site suggests that he sacrificed himself in a parallel universe whatever that means. I loved this movie too. I like the smurf speech and the rant he delivered to Patrick Swayze.
