Police have formed a taskforce to investigate the death of a man, whose body was discovered in a freezer last month.
Allan Noor's body was found in a commercial freezer in the garage of a unit on Hampton Court Road at Carlton on January 7.
His family had filed a missing person's report six days earlier after the 49-year-old failed to turn up to a New Year's Eve function.
Police yesterday said a strike force had been formed to investigate the death.
Mr Noor was last seen at the tyre business he operated on the Pacific Highway at Chatswood on December 31, and his green Volvo sedan was spotted leaving the business on the same day.
The car, with registration BKY 04N, was later found abandoned in Carlton on January 3 and police have impounded it for forensic analysis.
A post-mortem examination has also been carried out, but a cause of death is yet to be established.
Anyone who has any information about the incident - or who may have seen or heard any activity around Mr Noor's business on December 31 or at the unit in Carlton - is urged to contact detectives via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
