Detainees at the Altamira Regional Recovery Center in southwest Pará have been rebelling since 7 am on Monday (29). According to the Superintendence of the Pará Prison System (Susipe), there are dead prisoners and two prison officers are taken hostage.
A fight between criminal organizations would have triggered the rebellion. According to Susipe, inmates in block A, where they are being held in detention by a criminal organization, broke into the annex where they are interned by a rival group.
