A 13-year-old boy died following a horrific motorbike racing crash at a legendary U.S. circuit.

Peter Lenz was preparing to compete at the historic Indianapolis Speedway track when he fell off his bike.

The young racer - tipped to be a future star - was then run over by a 12-year-old rival during a warm-up lap ahead of Sunday's first race.

Desperate efforts were made to revive the teenager, with medics placing him in a neck brace and placing him on a stretcher.

Tragedy: Peter Lenz, 13, lies on the track receiving treatment from medical staff at the Indianapolis Speedway circuit where he was fatally injured during a race

That's a shame, at least he died doing something that he truly enjoyed.....:sad1:

They would never allow this in Bulgaria. The US never ceases to amaze me.
