Chapter 99. Louis
Young boxer Louis enjoyed his time off from training, the eighteen year old was still coming to terms with the amount of training he had to do daily, but today was a reward for his hard work and he spent the hot summer’s day lounging by the spring.
Louis went for a swim unaware that he was bordering land that saw an uneasy truce exist between humans and Fishmen and as he swam the teenager had no idea he was temporarily trespassing on Fishmen land.
Standing at around the same height as an average human the Fishmen had the upper body of a fish but legs and lower body of a man, they lived on land and in underwater cities and their existence ensured they ate anything that would come across, this included any human that strayed onto their territory.
A lone Fishman spotted Louis as he continued to swim and the sight of the young human made the Fishman's hate come rushing to the surface. He took up a position by the water’s edge and waited to attack. That time came when Louis paused and tried to pull himself up and out of the water.
The young teen had managed to pull himself half way up when the Fishman's spear struck him between the shoulder blades. Louis let out and a gasp and fell backwards into the water that immediately started to turn blood red. The Fishman dived in to retrieve his trusted spear and also Louis's body that would make a handsome meal for its young family.
Louis's body was dragged back to the Fishman's cave to be eaten. A large fire was started and chucks of flesh were cut from the young boxer’s lean body and roasted on the open fire before being tossed to the Fishman's wife and children that each quickly devoured the piece of Louis they were tossed and eagerly awaited more of the young man’s meat. Later that night the Fishman's family rested on their bloated bellies leaving only Louis's head and bare bones behind. The next morning the Fishman dumped the remains in a gorge happy in the fact his family had just fed well.
