the ancients believed that man was comprised of four elements, air, Earth, fire and water. Dependent on the percentage of each was his character, a gay with an excess of fire might be choleric.
It struck me that it might be interesting to devise a way in which a mans termination included all four of these elements either jointly or severally.this could involve taking a victim to the brink on three occasions before letting him die on the fourth or devising something which involved all four of the elements.
We guys are inventive. How would you dispose of someone using all four elements. For what it's worth I guess that air would involve hanging and cutting down whilst alive whilst water could involve a visit to the drowning pool . A skilled executioner could probably judge when to bring the victim out. Earth is more difficult, immolation perhaps or stoning but both are likely to involve termination so it would have to be the final element. Which leaves fire. Trouble here is that this is also, likely to be terminal, it might include electricity or actual flames but how do you stop matters going too fr to enable resurrection?
But I should be horrified if my co members could not have some fun divisimg some appropriate and painful deaths. Prove me right please

I'm sure I did write a story like that - a hanging story of course!

The elements work much like the colour wheel, they can pair up and have use with oneanother but if you combine too many it becomes a mess.
Air and fire could be a blast of flame within a vortex.
Water (representing liquid) and fire would be a molten material or flammable liquid.
Earth and water would be thick liquid materials such as mud and quick sand.
Just some ideas.

Well I'm all for fire as it releases all 4 humors. Fire is energy, but it needs air and fuel to exist. Fire frees up the water trapped in the body, then reduces the rest into ashes and dust, thus returning it to the earth and air. the perfect mix in my books.
