I think i agree to Your definition. Some (nice) people calls me a bear but i am big, fat and just average hairy. I would never call my self a bear i would rather say big chub or something like that.

But i also disagree, A bear must be big booned and heavy (muscular and bulky) if he is just fit and hairy he is an otter. Some bears have a big belly and i guess they are fat bears (Yummy) and other bears have "six packs" i would call them fit bears (they makes me go totally maso).
