Sharief S. Amatonding was shot to death by police at an RCBC branch in San Pedro, Laguna, Philippines on December 16, 2016. His widow, Amerah P. Amatonding, was arrested due to illegal drug trafficking.

Fay Virrey (reporter): Past 2:00 PM yesterday [December 16, 2016], someone suddenly entered the [RCBC] bank in San Pedro City, Laguna, and he went wild. Security guards tried to get the man out.
PO3 Francis Tabile (Investigator, San Pedro City PNP): Until outside, he was still an unruly, aggressive, and violent man.
Fay Virrey (reporter): Coincidentally, the police came from Biñan City. He was called by bank security guards for help. When the police tried to arrest Sharief Amatonding, he tried to grab the gun of one of the police officers. So, they were forced to shoot him. [gunshots heard from the raw video] Amatonding was killed instantly. According to police, he was crazy when the incident occurred.
PO3 Francis Tabile (Investigator, San Pedro City PNP): Based on our assessment, he was intoxicated. He was crazy.
Fay Virrey (reporter): Based on the police investigation results, the suspect and his wife came from hotel. They were reported for creating scandal.
PO3 Francis Tabile (Investigator, San Pedro City PNP): His wife remained inside the [hotel] room. She was already arrested by our officers in San Pedro City. She was caught with suspected shabu [methamphetamine] and [drug] paraphernalia.
Fay Virrey (reporter): As of now, Amatonding's wife Amerah is currently locked up in San Pedro City lock up cell, who refused to give an interview. Fay Virrey, ABS-CBN News.
