A 34-year-old man, believed to be trying to break into his neighbour’s house, met his end when his head got stuck between the wooden floorboards, in a bizarre incident in Dungun, Terengganu.
His body was found by the houseowner Wan Azhan Wan Abdullah, 43, reported Kosmo!.
The incident occurred between 7am and 3.30pm on Thursday while Wan Azhan was at work.
Wan Azhan said he was shocked to find an object sticking out of the floorboards of the kitchen when he came home from teaching at SKM Batu 7 near his house.
“When I reached home, I went directly into the kitchen to go to the toilet but suddenly, I saw a head,” he said, adding that he then called his neighbours.
On checking beneath his house, he was further horrified to find the body dangling from the floorboards, within a one-metre high confined space.
Wan Azhan, who has lived alone since 1983, said he knew the victim as his neighbour.
Deputy OCPD Supt Ismail Abdullah said the police found several tools around the dead man, including a hammer.
“Initial investigations showed he had a criminal record and history of drug abuse,” he said, adding that the body was later sent to Hospital Dungun.
