Blenheim Palace near Oxford is one of our stateliest of stately homes. It is not actually a royal palace - it was built by a grateful nation for the 1st Duke of Marlborough as a thank-you for winning the Battle of Blenheim in 1704 (and the Duchess being Queen Anne's girlfriend may have helped too) - but it is a great deal more impressive architecturally than any of the palaces where Queen Lizzie lays her humble head.

So far, so good.
Now this is where it gets marvellous.

And it is still missing. I wonder where on Earth it can be - um, I take it the cops have checked out Trump Tower?

In September they opened an art exhibition, and one of the art objects was a solid gold toilet, fully plumbed in and operational, and worth nearly £5 million.
And next to the room where Winston Churchill was born.
And they called it "America".
And within days it had been nicked - burglars broke in at night, ripped it out, and drove off with it, seemingly without setting off any alarms, or anyone noticing.
