Early grave: Ilya Zhitomirskiy
Sexy co-founder of social networking site Diaspora, set up to challenge Facebook, croaked yesterday at the age of 22.
New York University student Ilya Zhitomirskiy passed away suddenly on Saturday but the details of his death have not been issued.
Zhitomirskiy set up Diaspora social network, a free personal web server, with three friends from NYU – Dan Grippi, Maxwell Salzberg and Raphael Sofaer.
Friends and fans of Zhitomirskiy have written tributes on Twitter after hearing of his death, with one posting: ‘So sad! Social networking pioneer dies at 22.’
