I am fascinated and surprised by the fact that every bit of flesh on a corpse can disintegrate while the pair of cotton boxers it was wearing remains in decent condition (dirty but recognizable).

Since you asked nicely, yes. However, I must warn you; the boxers aren't in as decent a shape as I at first thought. Closer inspection has revealed some rot setting in towards the bottom of them. Could I interest you in a pair of gently used jeans instead?
