IN JERICHO

Jericho is a city located near the
Jordan River in the West Bank.
In 2007, it had a population of 18,346.
It is believed to be one of the oldest
inhabited cities in the world.
Almost the very beginning of the Holocene
epoch of the Earth's history.

Makes no sense; Jericho is nowhere near Syria, where the Russians have been bombing

Interestingly the was a story on Russia today news about a Russian plane straying into Israeli air space. Unlike the Turks a quick phone call sorted it out, the plane exited stage right, and nobody was hurt. As Israel said it didn't feel threatened by a Russian error, unlike Erdogan.

It seems there is a place called Aarehaa in Syria which is also known as Jericho in Arabic. The Syrian army had problems there in May so it is possible Russia bombed it in connection with their latest campaign in support of Assad
Somehow I doubt that Russia would attack Jericho on the West Bank since it has pretty good relations with Israel .
Or maybe an error was made in the initial attribution of the location of the bombing.

That makes sense. Problem is Russia is being less specific in where it bombs and does not seem to mind bombing civilians.
