I would never think to shoot myself in the neck. It seems to unnecessarily risk failing at your suicidal attempt, when the nearly sure-fire target of your brain is just inches away. Perhaps his gun went off accidentally as he was cleaning it. I would very much like to have that rug.

No, Alexonedeath, this was no accident. Note in picture 2 the arrows pointing to the knives and razor blade. And note in that picture that he has a wound on the left side of his neck, like he tried to cut with the razor blade, but couldn't get it deep enough, so he finished the job with a bullet. Obviously wanted to off himself with a neck wound, but you are right such is a poor way to do it.
