On April 13th 2016, eleven criminals escaped through a hole in the bathroom at a prison in Zulia state, Venezuela. Among the escapees was 28-year-old José Gregorio Pacheco Ríos who had a lengthy criminal record for homicide, robbery and extortion.

His joy didn't last long. In the early hours of April 17 locals of San Francisco Municipality - an area of Venezuela's second-largest city, Maracaibo - reported hearing some loud motorcycles and gunshots. When police arrived they found José beheaded with his head dumped in a garbage bag and tied to a house gate.

His body was found besides a dirt path in a nearby neighbourhood.
