There's a makeup FX (special effects) artist on Instagram who shares some of her work creating fake injuries or corpses for use in tv scenes. This includes entire fake corpses or masks that an actor would wear. Her work involves both males and females and look fairly realistic:

Thats some seriously impressive artistry. Substitutes don't work for me but I am so impressed with the level of skill here, wow
