one of the worst ways to die is hit by the train or decapitated
I don't agree. If you do it right, it could be one of the fastest and most painless ways, and a heck of a lot cheaper and less terrifying than going down in a sub built by Stockon Rush.

However, most people don't methodically think it through. The guy that was bisected around the waist for example - people have survived being cut in half there, so he might have been alive for quite some time, and I should imagine in quite a significant amount of pain. People who put their neck on the rail: That's only the most comfortable position until the train severs your head and then - from all the evidence that has been gathered so far - you've got a few seconds of your head bouncing down the track, which will probably be uncomfortable, on top of the pain from your neck being severed, and you get to see underneath of the rest of the train passing over you before you finally pass out.

No, the efficient way to do it would be to have your head on the rail so that it gets smashed to pulp almost in an instant, similar to a shotgun blast in the forehead.

There is now solid evidence and research that after decapitation the head remains conscious for 2-3 minutes until the brain uses all the remaining available oxygen but even after passing out some of the neurons remain alive even longer.

There was evidence of heads remaining conscious and moving their eyes after decapitation by guillotine in France.
