That's the point BadJohnny, the pain of burning to drive out your demons! Unfortunately self-immolation is very inefficient, you often fail in the primary function, i.e.: DEATH!
Which leaves you with a real reason to commit suicide, life as a burn cripple would be truly horrible!
As a regular fire-player, I can tell you that flames are incredibly stimulating, I have been burned to the point of blisters and open burn third degree burns, I loved the burning, but hated the healing!

Suicide is an unfortunate necessity for many. The government should provide humane methods of exit for all who are interested. It would be a win-win enterprise. The suicidal person's unhappiness is neutralized and the government's overpopulation is decreased.
