Some High Culture for a change - French Romanesque sculptural representation (from a tympanum) of a hanging

Ooh yes DD - very interesting - if my memory serves correctly - this is a very old carving in a French church or cathedral, and it depicts the suicidal hanging of naked Judas Iscariot - with a little help to send him on his way from a couple of demons.
Somewhere in my archive I have a colour version. When I get time I will have a rummage and see if I can find it.

Found it.
Now when I first saw this carving, I wondered if the stone mason was being a bit naughty and sneakily carved Judas holding onto his dick with his right hand - or - was it just a badly carved finger???? Have a look and see what you think for yourself
