Right to Carry a Pistol

In the United States many states require no permit at all to carry a loaded pistol openly or concealed.

In states requiring permits all citizens 21 years or older MUST be issued a permit to carry one or more loaded pistols without supplying a reason or justifying a need.

This is the "SHALL ISSUE" order in a recent Supreme Court decision.

In New York City carrying chemical spray for self defense is legal and may be purchased at any drug store without a permit.

Canada, on the other hand, this month made it illegal to own a pistol, let alone carry one for self defense. Same with chemical spray.

Many states in the U.S have reciprocity and a permit granted in one state may be valid in 38 other states. This varies.

People with such permits do not have to carry or transport weapons in a case with ammo stored elsewhere. They can wear their guns loaded and ready for use 24/7.
