Islamic State killed at least 37 people in an attack on two hotels in the popular holiday destination of Sousse, Tunisia.

The militants exchanged gunfire with security services on a beach packed with British holidaymakers.

The attack took place at the Al-Qantawi resort in the city of Sousse, around 140 kilometres south of the capital Tunis on the Mediterranean coast.

Local media have reported that those killed were mostly German and British tourists.

The body of one gunman also lay at the scene with a Kalashnikov assault rifle after he was shot in an exchange of gunfire with police.

I do wish we wouldn't use the term "execute" with these sorts of killings. An execution is the carrying out of a lawful sentence by a legally constituted body (e.g. a court). Why not call this as it is: "murder".

The body of the gunman is seen on the ground in the town of Sousse

Dude had great legs.

This world is going crazy with all this needless killings. And when you think about it, this is all about relegion. Where is god now? Tunisia is such a bueatiful place what a shame

One of the victims was 19 year old Joel Richards

As always simple citizens pay with their blood for dirty games the western politicans play in Syria and Iraq. All area from Tunisia to Iran was safety and almost free from terrorists until US to begin it's invasion in Iraq and helping syrian terrorists. ISIS is a logical product of this disorder.

it's not even about religion. it's tribalism dressed up as religion. true enough they're brainwashed into believing its the will of their deity, but whether it is fundamentally about religion and not about tribalism is difficult to say

Law of unintended consequences. Isis is a disaster but then sadam Hussein enjoyed murdering kurds so i guess they are happy to see the back of him. Pity bush was a lier and that he persuaded the holy innocent Blair to believe him. Or was it the other way round. And in Syria Assad seemed to be attacked by his own citizens.
And there are times when it is necessary to intervene. Hitler comes to mind.
I guess leaving well alone is the easy option but sometimes it is wrong. Hindsight is a good teacher.
And maybe if bush senior had persevered with the war against sadam after he invaded Kuwait we might never have had the rise of Isis.
Counter factual history is always a good subject for speculation

Sure a different way to spend a summer day at the beach

hmm look at the first picture of the old guy.. Theres another body under the towel beside him.. I think that's the teenager mentioned further down and the old man is the grandad

Hi, if you look at the second picture which is closer up to the second body you can see it's a woman in a one piece swimsuit.
Would like to see Joel if you manage to find a pic of him on beach.
