Thousands of people in Chita have been evacuated after their homes were submerged in the worst flooding in recent memory.
Some residents climbed onto rooftops as water levels quickly rose in the area flooding hundreds of homes.
The scale of the crisis in the city and surrounding districts was highlighted in a video showing a man almost drown as he desperately tries to save VAZ car from being washed away by the raging torrent.
Other videos showed serious flooding in around the town with some people forced to use boats to get around.
