[SUP]Facebook’s policy on threats of violence. A tick means something can stay on the site; a cross means it should be deleted[/SUP]

At first, Facebook’s policies seem clear enough.

The Guardian newspaper
however has been told by some facebook moderators that they struggle to understand distinctions – and some feel overwhelmed by the task. The latest policy updates reflect shifting attitudes and political pressure but can further complicate the job.

Facebook’s policies on graphic violence, non-sexual child abuse and animal abuse reveal its attempts to remain open while trying to ban horrific images.

Moderators remove content ‘upon report only’, meaning graphic content could be seen by millions before it is flagged.

Beheading videos are strictly forbidden but thousands of corpse photos are allowed and stored on their servers - something we certainly don't mind.

“Facebook cannot keep control of its content,” said one facebook employee. “It has grown too big, too quickly.”

People are violent animals and this is reflected in all the suicide and murder videos that are uploaded to facebook every week.

Do you think people will lose interest in facebook and move on to other platforms?
