Is anyone here in Scotland or Ireland? The Beltane Fire Festival is coming up fast, where traditionally the old king is sacrificed by burning alive, and a new, virile, young prince rises out of the ashes! There will be many reenactments in the Celtic countries, most notably in Edinburgh. Of course this will not involve a real human sacrifice, but if it will be very exciting with lots of nearly naked bodies and lots of fire! If there was a real human sacrifice, I might be tempted to volunteer and offer my naked flesh to the fire!

I don't think there are traditions like that in Wales. Probably rains too much to allow fire festivals to develop. I didn't know about the element of renewal in the Beltane festival. That makes it a most attractive belief. You could get all the erotic charge of being prepared as the sacrifice. That might include, if you were so inclined, getting fucked by all the lusty young men of the tribe, contributing their seed to the ceremony before you are shackled to the stake in the centre of a huge bonfire. There's the initial pain as the fire burns your feet, transforming to intense lust as the flames lick around your butt, balls, and rigid erection. As your flesh and bones burn to ashes your spirit flies free to flow among and within the wild dancers around the fire. You feel and participate in their excitement and arousal throughout the long night, until dawn reddens the eastern sky and the dancers lie, naked, exhausted, and intertwined around the remains of the fire. Then you rise from the glowing field of ash, tall, young, muscular and virile; hard, horny, and ready to take your selection of partners as is your right as leader. Beats the Church of England hands down.

Marky, Beltane is a traditional out with the old in with the new Festival. It is also a fertility Festival. It involves the Green Man, and the May Queen. Look it up. Maybe I should head to Edinburgh! But the odds of getting burned for real are much better on an isolated Scottish Island. "The Wickerman" is based on stories around Beltane.
