An American Airlines regional jet from Wichita carrying 60 passengers and four crew members collided midair Wednesday evening with a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter near Reagan National Airport, sending both aircraft crashing into the Potomac River
No survivors had been found as of late evening, and police have pulled multiple bodies from the water, according to officials.
At least 18 bodies have reportedly been recovered from the Potomac River.
A source told that as many as 15 people on the flight may have been involved in figure skating.
The downed helicopter was on a training flight and three service members were on board, officials said.
