Why are these warriors naked, except for their helmets? I suspect there may have been some dick-grabbing going on before the death blows were delivered.

Do you know why these warriors would compete or fight wearing so little clothing? Was it to stay cool? Was it because anything worn in battle would restrict their movements?

Ease of movement and hot climate where they were I think In the arena added to the spectacle and athletes competed naked or near naked too.

Well now, that's a reason I can get behind! If I were one of the arena spectators I'd sure as hell want the athletes to compete AT LEAST near naked.
