Real Jaén CF announced that the former president of the club during the 2016/17 season, Sergio Hitos, has died, on November 5th 2023, at the age of 44 after suffering a heart attack
Sergio Hitos Fuentes, was the protagonist of a controversy in 2016, when photos of him were published posted on his Instagram profile with a fascist flag in the background. It hangs on a wall and shows it in red and yellow with the eagle in the middle. Furthermore, in another of the photos, she appeared in a selfie, although his face was not visible, wearing a t-shirt with fascist slogans as well.
