One Iran, one Kuwait... both great pix.
It's a shame Kuwait hangings are all hooded: would be interesting to see the same scenarios without hoods.
These, and the vintage ones previously, are just a teaser for the next few lots...

What's happening with his feet in the second one? A bandage on one foot... and is that strings on the other.... or is he pissing himself? Not clear in the pic.

Iran have sick laws. I would not like in these country. Many people are executed unfairly. Poor people. these are things I lose sleep

I am against the death penalty; I am pro human rights; I am for gay rights; I deplore the execution of women, gay men, and children in Iran... and all human beings there and anywhere. But I look at the pictures of executions in iran, Kuwait, Syria and elsewhere – eg China.
I find nothing fascinating, personally, about suicide images: they are truly tragic and sad. But the spectacle of public hangings and executions – with all they entail, the ritual, the supplication, and the physical effects on the victims – fascinate me. They are a normal part of life in many countries: horrifying though this may be to me, and to us.
Interestingly – if you look at many of the pictures of Iranian hangings in particular – the victims often seem relaxed, smiling sometimes, apparently unconcerned by what is happening to them. They rarely look frightened. They seem to accept it in many cases. Perhaps, because it is a part of their culture: no fear of death.
And while we might find it horrifying, or barbaric, if public hangings took place in, for example, London, hundreds of thousands of people would go and see it as entertainment, just as they did in the Middle Ages right up until the 1800s. That idea horrifies me – but it is a fact.

I find public hangings to be both primitive and fascinating. I do not consider the death penalty to be a deterrent. But then, incarceration doesn't seem to have much of an impact on crime either. I believe that executing a criminal who has been convicted of committing some sort heinous crime prevents them from having any further impact on other people. A public execution at least sends a clear message to larger portion of the population. What is clear is that this culture executes people without just cause or a fair trial.
If the United States publicly executed people for certain crimes after a fair and timely trial, it would probably draw a large number of curious spectators and most likely be shown on pay per view TV. The government could sell tickets and make money to operate the prison system. Chances are it would evolve into a public spectacle and combined with other rituals. I can imagine Ryan Seacrest introducing the convicted and narrating the process. Maybe they would let the public vote on who to hang first.
I can see that humanity still has a long way to go toward being civilized. So I might as well make the most of the situation.
