These two scenes - they happen all the time - and one just makes the decision to go with what he "has". There will never be a group suicide, nor a victim that gets to choose the how and when he will get snuffed. A murderer is NOT going to let his victim(s) choose the method of their death, or the time of their death.

There is no "control" in that scene.

No one really wants to die - there is a rush, and when the rush is over - the dream or fantasy ends - and you are back to life - until another scene that you can wank off to presents itself.
