A gunman opened fire at Oxford High School in Michigan on Nov. 30, shooting 11 people. Four students were killed and several others were left critically and seriously injured.
On the night of the shooting, the authorities identified those killed as Hana St. Juliana, 14; Madisyn Baldwin, 17; and Tate Myre, 16, who died in a sheriff’s squad car while on the way to a hospital. A fourth student, Justin Shilling, 17, died the next morning at a hospital.
Tate Myre, 16
6'0" 195lbs
Tate was a star football player who had earned a spot on the varsity team since he was a freshman at Oxford High School, the team said in a tweet. Not only was he talented on the field, he excelled academically and was an honor student.
In the middle of a chaotic scene, Wingert was told by multiple students that when the gunfire started, Tate ran toward the gunman to stop him. Hours later, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office confirmed Tate had been shot. A sheriff's deputy put him into a squad car and tried to rush him to the hospital, but he died en route.
Justin Schilling, 17
From an early age Justin was a lover of all sports, organized and pickup. He played on Oxford's golf team and was a member of the bowling team, where he carried a 161 average, according to Mhsbowling.com. Last season, Justin won 32 games, lost five and tied one, according to the records.
After his death his organs were donated.
Suspect Ethan Crumbley, a 15-year-old student, was later arrested in connection with the shooting, the authorities said. He was charged the following day with one count of terrorism causing death and four counts of first-degree murder, which could lead to a life sentence if he is convicted.
On Dec. 3, prosecutors took the rare step of filing involuntary manslaughter charges against his parents, James and Jennifer Crumbley, saying that they had bought the semiautomatic handgun that he used to carry out the deadly rampage as a Christmas gift.
