Polish bodybuilder Paul Poloczek has tragically died at just 37, a matter of hours after competing in a tournament. Poloczek was last seen attending the NPC Worldwide Championship in Germany, before his death was confirmed shortly after.

It remains unclear as to how the 37-year-old passed away, with his cause of death yet to be publicly confirmed by doctors or his family. His passing was confirmed in a heartbreaking social media post from his wife, who broke the news on her Instagram page.

Poloczek initially got into bodybuilding as a teenager, after first trying his hand as a footballer. Despite being Polish, the 37-year-old spent the majority of his life in Germany, where he joined the Powerhouse Gym franchise in 2002, before becoming owner.

Just one year after taking up the sport, Poloczek claimed his first win at 17. Later on in his career, he went on to claim second place at the German Championships in the Super-Heavyweight division in 2012.
The Polish star has also enjoyed success in the sport overseas, after winning the Arnold Classic Amateur tournament in Ohio, USA in 2017, which in turn saw him collect his pro card. Poloczek’s passing is yet another tragedy to hit the bodybuilding business in the past few months.
