This instrument is called an Israel Retractor and not all doctors and autopsy technicans use it. The blades resemble a rake, and, like most retractors, this tool is used to retain edges on an incision, wound, organ, or tissue. It is commonly used to handle heavy tissue during orthopedic surgeries.

Very old favourite. Amazingly this version is slightly better quality and slightly higher resolution than the original one we posted so many years ago.

What caught my attention is not the tool itself but the gesture of the morgue worker, who seems to be cutting a steak at dinner :ROFLMAO:

Old Russian Educational Film for Students of Forensic Medicine

Seems odd that they would mix the organs of two different corpses on the same table.
Seems even odder that they would do external exams after opening the bodies.

Today's Russian additions.

This is what my dream autopsy looks like. Getting cut open in an overflowing eastern Europe morgue In front of students by a butcher and every gets filmed.

It's like they choose the best looking corpses to be filmed and cut open with everybody around them. That's why some tend to look really attractive!!!

Very skinny corpse on morgue table in Russia.
