25-year-old MMA fighter David Koenig has been found dead in Branson, Missouri, almost two years after his disappearance, in February 2020.
That was the last time he was seen, in a local hotel.
A local hunter, who was looking for deer antlers in the forest, found the body. He quickly alerted the police and, subsequently, forensics determined that it was Koenig’s lifeless body.
His mother explained the disappearance of her son in March 2020: “He has been fighting his addiction for many years.” Before being unaccounted for, he wrote several messages to his relatives in which he asked for help to “get out of trouble. “
Branson Police Chief Jeff Matthews announced the investigation to find the missing person: “Our department never stopped in our efforts to find Mr. Koenig. While this is not the end we expectedWe offer our condolences to Mr. Koenig’s family and friends. It does not appear that his death was a suicide. ”
