A 51-year-old man died after being attacked by a shark, this Saturday (10), on Piedade beach, in Jaboatão dos Guararapes, in Greater Recife. As reported by G1, Marcelo Rocha Santos arrived lifeless at the Hospital da Restauração (HR), in the central area of the capital of Pernambuco.
The attack took place in the area known as Igrejinha de Piedade, where another 12 cases had already occurred. There is a lifeguard station on site. The victim sustained serious injuries to his thigh and one hand, which was amputated, according to firefighters. At the time of the attack, only Marcelo and another person were at sea.
According to information, Marcelo was born in Barra do Rocha, where he still has family members, such as his mother and brothers. He lived in Pernambuco for about 20 years. The man leaves a wife and two children. There is still no information on the victim's burial.
