Electronically tagged thief killed in robbery

A thief in Manaus was murdered by member of the public after being caught during attempted robbery.
He was reportedly stabbed in the eyes with a screwdriver and died due to his injuries at the scene.
The thief was wearing an electronic tag, presumably due to a previous conviction.
