Decades ago, I was hired by the late Lyle Leverich, who was writing a book on playwright Tennesse Williams, to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death ofvTennesee. That book, eventually published, was called "Young Tom", and Lyle never gave me a credit and stiffed me on part of the research fee.

Cutting to the chase, I visited the Blackstone Hotel, where the body was found. I spoke with the employee who discovered the body and she expressed amazement that "I was never interviewed bh the police".

The plot thickens.

The medical examiner, Dr. Eliot Gross was a nasty individual, who later developed full blown dementia.

The lab report (toxology) was submitted under a false name and the screen done in Nasseau, and NOT New York. I have a cooy of that. I tracked down the lab tech (who had retired) in Brazil, and he said "I was ordered never to discuss this".

Hmmm.

Williams waa a homosexual and his boyfriend had an adjacent hotel room with an interconnecting door.

A hotel maid I interviewed stated: "There was a big noisy argument the nightnof his death berween Williams and his boyfriend.

Thr cause of death on the autopsy report, which I have, waa that death was due to "asphyxiation by swallowing a bottle cap".

Allegedly, according to Gross, this caused a tracheal spasm thar closed off his airway exagerating a pre-existing heart condition inducing ventricular fibrillation.

Frankly, if you believe that, I have a Brooklyn Bridge to sell you.

Very cheap.
