37-year-old diver was attacked and eaten by shark in the Pacific on Dec 19 near Puerto Peñasco - a Mexican fishing and resort city on the Gulf of California.
He was rescued by a friend but passed shortly after before reaching hospital.
That he survived such an attack, even briefly, is amazing. The friend who rescued him probably assured him that he was going to be okay. That's just what you always tell the injured, even if you know they don't have a chance. Why anyone still goes scuba diving, when sharks are everywhere, is a mystery to me.
