Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2018: the winning images

For no particular reason except that they're stunningly beautiful images and it's good to have something beautiful and cheerful once in a while.

The US photographer Brad Goldpaint has beaten thousands of amateur and professional photographers from around the globe to win the Royal Observatory Greenwich’s title of Insight Investment Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2018. The exhibition opens at the National Maritime Museum (Greenwich, London) on Wednesday.

Thank you for these photos, deaddirty! I intend to add a number of them to my desktop background slideshow. I love outer space.
