Remember all those boring days at school reading Shakespeare as part of the English literature syllabus and then having to take an exam on it. It doesn't have to bee that way. I've just returned from seeing a production of Richard III. Okay it was written by an apologist for the Tudor regime and the real King Richard may not have been as evil as Shakespeare makes him out to be but a guy who killed off his wife, brother, two nephews, chief aid, sister in laws brother and chief counsellor amongst others cannot be all bad. In fact it could almost be the signature play for Cdg.
Went with a mate who hated Shakespeare at school; he really enjoyed it.
Anyone els come across Shakespeare on the stage and found it altered his perceptions
Incidentally I remember an Asimov short story about a scientist who brought Shakespeare forward from the past and enrolled him on a college course about the bard. Guess what, he flunked it.
