So cruising through your website, I followed a couple of links last night and ended up with a trojan virus which appears as Live Security Platinum which is a fake virus scanner prompting you to download their software to remove the trojan. The advertised price is $99--BUT, not only do you not get a legit piece of software, the scammers evidently use your credit/debit card and charge up to the maximum that your card will take. So far, I've spent $130 with McAfee to get the damned thing removed from my computer.

So beware.

I use Norton (Symantec) and never had a problem. My first computer had McAfee and was crap......used up all my ram and still got viruses. Not sure what links you used, but all our photos and videos are hosted by safe and reliable sources i.e imagebam, videobam, even YouTube. Good luck with your computer and hope you enjoy this site.:Welcome buddy:

I use AVG which is free plus I do subscribe to System Mechanic which isn't very expensive. I don't understand how you got taken by McAfee to remove a virus. If you are running one of the latest Windows, Microsoft can be pretty helpful at getting rid of viruses. They are constantly identifying and downloading them to those who allow automatic updating. They also have updates on their website. Welcome to CDG.

Avira is powerful free antivirus. It is not worse than McAfee to remove any worms.

yes I got a warning from Norton when I did open the likn to the canadial necro video one time, fortunatelly Norton did stop and destroyed the virus before infected my computer.

Welcome, prohockeyplayer, and sorry you've had a bad start here!
I use AVG, seems to be pretty good. As Phyzzique says, most of uur stuff is on imagebam, imagebox, or youtube, which should be pretty safe - I guess there's no way of guaranteeing other links which sometimes get posted. But if you know what link you got infected from, please post a warning, and maybe PM the mods too!
Hope you enjoy it here, and don't have any more problems

I think I caught a cold from VIDEOBAM exhibsm.com/ajcgk GHETTO: "Execution by hanging"

This may be a very novice question, but if you have to take you laptop into Best Buy or some other tech service to repair, will they be able to see all the surfing and posting I've done here? Is there anyway I can protect my privacy from it happening especially since I enjoy this site even more than all the gay porn I look at?

I dont know about you but I refuse to use services like geek squad etc. If i know I have a hardware issue like a bad motherboard etc i make sure to pull the hard drive before sending the computer in for service.

You can delete the history on your computer by yourself or there are software downloads (free and otherwise) that wipe any traces of the sites you visited. 'Window Washer' is one I used to use, not bad.

Why would you stick your card details into something like that? Are you new to the internets?

ANSWER!
FIRST get MALWAREBYTES anti malware software program. It is free. But it is PASSIVE and you'll need to scan and remove with the free version. By that time something can have entered.
SECOND buy the ACTIVE MODULE for around thirty or thirty-five dollars. It reacts FAST and stops things from entering in the first place.
THIRD Go to USER ACCOUNT CONTROL SETTINGS from link from CONTROL PANEL. Select the HIGHEST security setting. It will stop you every time you click to ok something that will CHANGE YOUR COMPUTER. It's a small nuisance but worth it.

I was with a freind when we carelessly allowed that same trojan to enter. could not get rid of it. Finally we REBOOTED and when windows came up the USED ACCOUNT CONTROL stopped it from loading and asked if it was ok. OF COURSE NOT!!!!!! NO.
Then we ran MALEWAREBYTES which promptly removed it! It picked up the first file at the beginning of the scan but it took til the very last of the scan to pick up the other related files. All removed. CASE CLOSED.
I also run Norton anti virus which works well with Malewarebytes. Also Windows defender which occasionally finds something. Also many add-ons in FIREFOX that stop scripting, ads and pop-ups and other things.
Lastly you might invest around eighty-five dollars in a LINKSYS HARDWARE BROADBAND FIREWALL ROUTER which really screens out a lot of things. I don't understad how it works exactly but it does. It was the first thing I got at a tech guy's recommendation and it made the first great difference.

Well there you go -enjoy surfing the web now that you have terminator type protection!!!

Those programs overwrite, or "erase" the local files that are downloaded into your cache and all that, but any computer forensics detective worth his salt can bring up anything you've ever saved and or viewed on your computer. The moment you look at something on the internet, it's already downloaded somewhere into your cache.

According to data destruction experts, the only sure way to securely destroy any data on your drive that you do not want other people to possibly view, is to PHYSICALLY DESTROY THE DRIVE.

The old DoD standards that were commonly used at the turn of the century no longer apply as HDDs have become much more dense and complex since.

I hate computers, though I will admit they are useful for watching porn vids. Other than that, I'd be perfectly happy to go back to 1969 and stay there.
