On May 6, 2023, a mass shooting occurred at Allen Premium Outlets, an outlet center in Allen, Texas, United States. Nine people were killed, including the perpetrator, who was shot by a police officer already in the area on an unrelated call.] Seven were injured.
The perpetrator was identified as 33-year-old Mauricio Garcia, who was reported to have worked as a security guard and was living in a motel. During his time working as a security guard, Garcia reportedly received firearms training.
