The 2016 Kumamoto earthquakes are a series of earthquakes, including a mainshock which occurred at magnitude 7.0 at 01:25 JST on April 16, 2016, beneath Kumamoto, the capital city of Kumamoto Prefecture on the island of Kyushu, Japan, at a depth of about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi),and a foreshock earthquake which preceded it with a magnitude 6.2 at 21:26 JST on April 14, 2016, at a depth of about 11 kilometres (6.8 mi).


The two earthquakes killed at least 44 people and injured about 3,000 others in total. Severe damage occurred in and around Kumamoto, with numerous structures collapsing and catching fire. More than 44,000 people have been evacuated from their homes due to the disaster.

Sometimes She does. I remember the Iranian english radio had an interview about ten years ago with an 90 year old lady and inhabitant of Arg-é Bam in Kerman. She was caught in an wardrobe or linen press during the earth quake in the year of 2003. After 14 (Fourteen) days they dug her out. The first thing she asked for was "a cup of tea, merci".

A lot of people get caught in debris after natural or man made calamities and most of them are suffering a terrible death.
