Double murder on the night of February 25, 2026 in the village of Kadlub, Opole Voivodeship, Poland.

He looks exactly like the type of person who would do that exact type of thing. 😬

A real ogre. Hopefully justice is carried out and he never sees the light of day again.

In the early hours of February 26, 2026, Polish authorities discovered the bodies of a 38-year-old man and a 92-year-old woman inside a single-family home. Both victims had suffered numerous chopping and cutting wounds, with initial reports pointing to an axe as the murder weapon. The deceased were identified as a stepfather and the great-grandmother (or in some accounts, grandmother) of a 17-year-old resident of the same household.

What elevated this tragedy from a horrific family killing to a national and online sensation was the perpetrator’s own actions afterward. The teenager recorded the attacks, including practice swings in the garage and the fatal assaults while the victims slept and uploaded them online. From there, the footage quickly spread.

Police launched an intensive search. The suspect was located and arrested just hours later, reportedly hiding in bushes (or near the Oder River in some updates I’ve seen). He was identified in media reports as 17-year-old Łukasz G. Investigators from the Opole Prosecutor’s Office confirmed he admitted to the double murder “with particular cruelty,” a charge carrying a potential sentence of 15 to 30 years in prison.

In a chilling two-minute recording posted online, the teen reportedly began with phrases like “Hello, I am a family murderer” and attempted to justify his actions. Some reports mentioned additional disturbing details, such as him licking blood from the weapon.

Those who knew him expressed complete disbelief. The teenager had been completing an internship at a local construction company, where a co-worker described him as a “calm and quiet guy.” “I never would have suspected he would do anything bad,” the colleague said. Neighbors and acquaintances echoed similar sentiments, no obvious prior behavioral red flags, no dramatic outward signs of turmoil. He reportedly rarely went out and kept to himself, but nothing suggested the capacity for such extreme violence.

The fourth person living in the home, a woman who was the wife of the murdered man, narrowly escaped harm; she was in the hospital for a scheduled procedure that night.
